English as a second or third language for students in Fontaine can be a powerful tool. One of the world's most common languages, English can open more doors to future jobs, connections, and schools in Haiti.

Volunteers spend time teaching English to St. Gabriel's students during their stay.

 

Outside of classes, students also actively practice English with volunteers who travel from the U.S. to spend time at St. Gabriel's.  During the visit our volunteers help students learn and practice speaking English and the students share their language, Creole, with the volunteers. 

 

This sharing of languages forms great connections and strengthens steps to a better education.
